Q: How do customers get the Virtual Loyalty Card onto their phone?
A: There are a number of different ways:
- Have a redirect from your website: yoursite.com/loyalty
- Have them scan a QR Code which sends them to your card
- Have them text a Keyword to a phone number to receive a link to your Card
Q: How do we change the manual entry code to register a punch on the Card?
A: Just contact us and we will update the code for you.
Q: How does the scanner work?
A: We are using Next Generation Scanner technology that allows you to use any number of phones or tablets with a camera and an internet connection to scan your business’ Virtual Loyalty Cards. It also comes with security features that allow us to remove any of the phones or tablets from the “approved” list to prevent any fraudulent scans. There are also other security features built in that we only discuss with customers that purchase the Virtual Loyalty Card Program for their business.
Q: Do we need any special equipment or need to buy any hardware from Virtual Loyalty Cards?
A: No. You can use any tablet or phone with a camera and an internet connection. In fact, the more “basic” the better. You don’t want an expensive iPad or anything else loaded with apps you will never use. You can even authorize the phones of all of your servers and have them scan them customer’s Virtual Loyalty Cards at the tables, drive-thru, counters or wherever you want. They will need to enter a “scanner authorizing password” every day for security to insure anyone that leaves your business can’t continue to scan cards. We generally recommend getting a small, basic tablet and mount it on a counter using one of the windshield type “arms” you see for mounting cell phones in your car. Depending on the battery life of the device you choose you may need to have it close to charger.
Q: Can we use the scanning system that our cash register currently uses?
A: Not to scan the Loyalty Card and give a punch. It would involve endless programming and troubleshooting to insure it would work with every possible scanning system out there. It could also take endless support from your scanning company’s tech support if something were to go wrong. We can insert a coupon that is read by your scanning system after your customer earns their loyalty reward, assuming your register system has the ability to read UPC or other bar code coupons that you may need to provide.
Q: What do I need to provide to get my Virtual Loyalty Card designed?
A: You will need to provide the colors you want, logo, punch images, rewards, manual punch code and other customizations you want. We can also just provide stock graphics if you want.
